Our team conducts risk assessments for each location, the medinas of Fez and Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, the Atlantic coast, and above all the Sahara, and builds safety plans around them. Desert work demands serious heat-illness prevention: hydration regimes, shaded holding for crew and Berber extras, scheduling the hardest work into cooler hours, and on-set medics with evacuation routes mapped, since the nearest hospital from a remote base may be hours away. We brief crew in Arabic, French and English, plan for sandstorms as a recurring hazard, and put specific controls around stunt work, horses, camels and crowd scenes. Safety planning is set up with the CCM-licensed production-services firm managing the shoot.

Here is the breakdown. Morocco's skilled crew base is a genuine safety asset, and we build on it. The Ouarzazate hub has run large, tricky shoots for decades, from 'Lawrence of Arabia' and 'Gladiator' through 'Black Hawk Down', 'Spectre' and HBO's 'Game of Thrones', so local technicians, animal handlers and assistant directors are accustomed to global safety protocols and to managing crowds, livestock and stunts at scale.
