Here is how this works in practice. We connect shoots with Moroccan and worldwide credited Directors of Photography who know how to translate a brief into a coherent visual language on the ground. Our DPs work fluently across the country's compact range — Sahara dunes at Merzouga. The Erg Chebbi, the gorges of the Dades and Todgha, the High Atlas, and the medinas of Marrakech and Fez — building shot lists, lens packages and lighting plans that account for radically different looks within short drives.

Here is how the picture comes together. On the ground, Each DP works with closely with the camera department, gaffer and grip teams during prep, attends tech scouts, and leads on set with full planning of focus pullers, operators and digital imaging technicians. The Ouarzazate crew base is among the most skilled in the world for historical-epic and desert work, so a DP can be matched with department heads who have shot together repeatedly, reducing risk on demanding schedules.

Here is the short of it. Morocco gives more than 300 sunny days a year. Our DPs plan around that light rather than fighting it — timing key scenes to the warm low sun of early morning and late afternoon. Using negative fill, large overheads and bounce to control the hard midday source. Summer desert shooting brings heat above 40°C, dust and the risk of sandstorms, all of which a DP factors into camera protection, magazine handling and backup scheduling, while winter brings snow to the High Atlas and Oukaïmeden.

Here is what we have to work with. On the ground, Foreign shoots work through a CCM-licensed local production-services partner. With the CCM (Centre Cinématographique Marocain) administering permits and a 30% cash rebates on qualifying Moroccan spend. Our team makes sure the DP's gear requests align with ready rental stock and that work permits for incoming cinematographers are processed in good time.
