Here is how this works in practice. We create moodboards that give a production a clear, shared visual reference for shooting in Morocco. Our team works with directors, production designers and cinematographers to build boards around real Moroccan textures, colours and light: the warm earth tones of the medinas, the high contrast of desert sun, the deep blues of Chefchaouen and the Atlantic, the intricate zellige tilework and carved cedar of historic interiors.

Here is the breakdown. On the ground, Moodboards are grounded in locations a production can actually access. It draws on the dunes of Merzouga, the kasbahs of the Draa Valley and the standing sets at Atlas Studios and CLA Studios in Ouarzazate, so the visual target stays achievable. We tie boards to practical realities such as the more than 300 sunny days a year and the trilingual production environment, keeping creative intent and feasibility aligned from the start.

Here is the short of it. Morocco's look on screen has been shaped by a century of filmmaking. Good moodboards draw on that vocabulary. The country has been rendered as ancient Rome and Jerusalem in 'Gladiator' and 'Kingdom of Heaven', as a fantasy realm in HBO's 'Game of Thrones', and as a fractured today's world in 'Babel'. Moroccan filmmakers Nabil Ayouch and Maryam Touzani have brought a distinct today's aesthetic to global screens. With the rich colour and texture of Touzani's 'The Blue Caftan' a reference point in itself. We help shoots decide what visual register they want, historical, fantastical or today's, and build moodboards that communicate it clearly to each department, so the creative direction is understood before prep starts.
