We brief DITs on the practical conditions: capturing and backing up large-format and multi-camera data at remote desert locations, managing heat and dust around drives and gear, building trusted on-set workflows far from facilities, and turning around dailies for edit.

Here is how the work shapes up. On the ground, DITs we place handle data ingest, backup and verification, manage colour and on-set looks in planning with the DP, prepare LUTs, and make sure footage moves securely to the edit and post teams. They work closely with the camera department, the colorist and the post-prod supervisor, and they build robust, redundant pipelines for the realities of Moroccan locations. Most are fluent in French, Arabic and English, supporting clear communication across mixed crews.

Here is how this works in practice. As Moroccan shoots have moved to large-format digital capture, often with many cameras and pro drone and underwater units, the DIT role has become central to protecting footage shot far from any site. The Ouarzazate base and the studios at Atlas, CLA and Kanzaman support today's digital workflows, and the post sector in Casablanca and Rabat, staffed by ISMAC-trained pros, completes the chain. Data handling runs within Morocco's regulatory environment: the CCM runs the industry. Data protection is set by the CNDP under Law 09-08.
