Location Sound Packages

Here is how this works in practice. We assemble complete location sound packages — recorder-mixers, boom rigs, wireless transmitter arrays, timecode and tracking — drawn from Morocco's set up audio rental base around Casablanca and Ouarzazate. With pro kit flown in from Europe when a production's sound department needs it. Our team scales the package to the shoot, from a compact run-and-gun documentary kit working in Rabat or Chefchaouen to a full multi-track setup for a feature on the standing sets at Atlas Studios or CLA Studios. Each package is tested and prepared before it leaves for the location. We set up delivery so the sound department is operational from the first day, whether the unit base is in Marrakech or out on the Merzouga dunes.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. A Morocco location sound package has to be built for the environment. Desert sets near Merzouga and across the Atlas Mountains demand robust wind protection and dust-sealed cases for recorders and transmitters, since fine sand and sandstorms are a real planning factor. Cool desert nights bring condensation managed with acclimatised gear, and summer temperatures above 40°C mean gear is staged in shade. Remote units run off power packs power, so packages have conditioned supply and ample battery provision.

Here is how the picture comes together. On the ground, the wireless elements of any package — radio mics, IFB, timecode links — use range covered by the Moroccan telecoms regulator, the ANRT (Agence Nationale de Reglementation des Telecommunications), and we handle the frequency planning as part of the service. Sound hire from Moroccan vendors is billed in dirham (MAD) and counts as qualifying spend toward the CCM 30% cash rebates.
